Johnny and Me.  This is one of those fun pieces meant to baffle the viewer of the next century.  Maybe they'll think I actually did play with John Lennon.  Then again, maybe they'll just think I'm a jerk.  Then again, who cares? - Currently Available for $2200
Ivory derringer grip. A gun more suited to looking than shooting.
Like a custom knife that never cuts anything, this gun will probably never fire a bullet.
Small display piece. I enjoy finishing a portrait and having tiny eyes look back at me.
Portrait of Airi Kulpa. Airi was a foreign correspondent in Mexico after World War II, and also acted in movies. This piece shows her from that period. Even in her eighties she is still a beautiful woman.	Kicks Iron. Dakota Sioux brave. This piece sold to a record producer. One of his bands adopted the name Kicks Iron, and will use this image for their CD cover. Their lead singer, Dana Parker, is from South Dakota.

Though you might have to find these in a used book store now, you may want to check out Tom Clancy's "Net Force" series novels - "Point of Impact" and "Cybernation". Written by Steve Perry, they feature a scrimshander named Bob Hergert. Just a coincidence?.....I don't think so.

To get an idea how much a commissioned project might cost, calculate the number of square inches of scrimshaw. Then figure a price of $150 -$200 per square inch. This assumes the model or design is ready or available. Exceptions to this pricing include miniature knives, which must be estimated individually. Cost of ivory is separate. Those who would like a quality knife for a moderate cost might consider the David Boye Prophet Companion. Finished knives with scrimshaw typically run between $600 and $800.
